GUTMANN combines the best of both worlds

Architecture is driven by ideas

GUTMANN Bausysteme GmbH is an international supplier of building systems for windows, doors and façades. As part of one of the world’s largest and most demanding industries, GUTMANN has the opportunity to assume responsibility towards customers and society. In this context, the company goes one step further by aiming to complement its product portfolio with innovative functions and technologies. The answer to current architectural and social requirements is provided by the GUTMANN wood-aluminium systems, including the MIRA and MIRA contour window systems, the LARA GF mullion-transom glazing system and the wood-aluminium unitised façade. The combination of wood and aluminium impresses thanks to the special properties of each material.

Wood as the building material of the future

Wood is a renewable raw material with positive characteristics in terms of energy efficiency and resource conservation. Compared with other building materials, wood has significantly lower thermal conductivity, helping to minimise heat losses. As a result, optimum insulation values can be achieved, with a positive impact on the energy balance of buildings. Wood products can store CO₂ over the long term, as they bind the carbon that the original tree removed from the atmosphere – around one tonne of CO₂ per cubic metre of wood. In addition, the natural feel of wood gives interiors a harmonious sense of comfort.

Aluminium as part of the solution

The robust lightweight metal aluminium provides optimum protection against even the most challenging weather conditions for decades and, thanks to surface treatment, offers an extremely wide range of design variations, making it possible to satisfy individual aesthetic requirements. The material also has excellent recycling properties and can be reused many times within existing recycling loops.

Wood-aluminium systems from GUTMANN

The wood-aluminium product range includes, among other solutions, the MIRA window system with its classic offset sash appearance, offering tailor-made solutions for every requirement through a versatile range of profiles, both for residential buildings and commercial projects. In contrast, MIRA contour is distinguished by its clean-lined and angular appearance. The LARA GF mullion-transom glazing system is ideally suited for large-scale, multi-storey and extensively subdivided glazed surfaces and can also be used for conservatory construction. Another particular highlight within the portfolio is the wood-aluminium unitised façade, which introduces a new dimension to office and high-rise construction. While wood-aluminium windows are traditionally used in residential construction, aluminium systems dominate office buildings and high-rise developments. Until now, there has been no integrated wood-aluminium system available for this type of building.

The GUTMANN wood-aluminium systems combine aesthetics and functionality. The products are designed for high energy efficiency and support resource-efficient building concepts through the use of renewable and recyclable materials.

The objective is to contribute, through high-quality and durable system solutions, to energy-efficient construction methods that can support a high quality of life for present and future generations.
