bauelemente bau: Gutmann restructures sales

In our February issue, we reported in detail on Gutmann Bausysteme GmbH’s plans to restructure the sales of the company from Weissenburg. Now the aluminium specialist has followed up its words with action. Until the end of last year, the aluminium systems business for the metal construction division was still managed separately. Since recently, this area, as well as the segments of building hardware and metal composite systems, has been operated under uniform management in Germany and Austria. The responsible sales manager, Thomas Reinert, relies on a heterogeneous mix in a homogeneous team.

For the established contract business, which offers in-depth support in factory planning for the tendering bodies, the vacant position of contract consultant north as well as another office position in contract management could be filled in addition to the contract consultant south. For the regions of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Austria, a dynamic young salesman was hired who has already gained initial experience in the roof window business. For the north of the republic, an experienced metal construction specialist has been engaged since 1 September 2023.

Making knowledge available to all

Two product trainers who had previously worked as regional sales accounts were filleted from the existing team. It was important to Reinert that the well-founded knowledge of the two is made available to all customers and sales staff. They are also the point of contact for the internal technology and development department. This is to ensure that the products that the market and customers need are indeed developed. This concept is rounded off with the planned show van, which will present the new products in physical form.

Gutmann Bausysteme GmbH continues to rely on the newly created showroom at the company headquarters in Weissenburg. For this purpose, large parts of the stand from the Bau trade fair in Munich were recycled. In this way, the company would like to underline its ambitions in the area of sustainability, among other things. In addition, large-scale photovoltaic systems are currently being installed on the production roofs.

Key account and assistance complete the team

As further measures to optimise the proximity to the customer and their concerns, Reinert relies on two key account managers, one of whom is responsible for direct business and comes from the existing team. In addition, an experienced and established networker for the retail business has been on board since 1 June 2023.

Finally, Arnd Brinkmann, Managing Director of Gutmann Bausysteme GmbH, Max Radt as Export Manager and Reinert are pleased about two new sales assistants who, in addition to the operative business, also launch and support the strategic decisions of the management team.

Real teamwork

“Numerous project groups are led by different sales accounts. Here, both long-standing employees and those who have only recently joined take on responsibility and bring the fate of the topics forward with outstanding commitment. That is real teamwork! With these measures, we see ourselves well prepared to successfully master the future challenges of the market,” Reinert concludes.
