World’s Leading Trade Fair BAU 2023
It was six intensive days at this year’s BAU in Munich, and GUTMANN was fully committed throughout. The trade fair has now come to an end – and it was a complete success.
A ‘family reunion’ for the industry
As the world’s largest platform for architecture, materials and systems, BAU attracts thousands of visitors from around the globe every time it takes place, all eager to discover the latest developments and trends in the construction industry. Following a four-year break due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event returned as an in-person exhibition in 2023. It was therefore clear that GUTMANN wanted to seize the opportunity to participate once again and meet customers, partners and potential new clients face to face.
The figures show that the construction industry is ready for the future. This year, around 190,000 visitors travelled to Munich despite strike action at German airports and within local and long-distance public transport networks. A total of 2,260 exhibitors from 49 countries presented themselves at the exhibition grounds and impressed visitors with an extensive supporting programme.
Energy efficiency and digitalisation in focus
The key themes at the GUTMANN Bausysteme stand were sustainability and digitalisation. Across a total exhibition area of 250 m², visitors were able to explore numerous GUTMANN products, including various wood-aluminium systems for buildings with high requirements in terms of quality, energy efficiency and material selection. Wood is becoming increasingly important in modern construction and, as a renewable raw material, offers a wide range of applications. “Although Gutmann has many years of experience in the development of wood-aluminium systems, our product portfolio has increasingly become the focus of architects and planners,” explains Max Radt.
In addition to these products, solutions from the building hardware sector were also presented, particularly various systems for fall protection. The GUTMANN window board system was likewise represented and remains an important component of modern façade solutions. Furthermore, aluminium systems – ranging from façades to window and door systems – were showcased in order to demonstrate the full breadth of the product portfolio and the versatility of GUTMANN Bausysteme.
In the field of digitalisation, particular attention was given to the tuulo B2B platform, as well as the significantly expanded configurators for various products and online ordering options. Fall protection systems, for example, can be configured as complete sets and ordered entirely online as pre-assembled products.
Positive feedback reinforces GUTMANN’s approach
The stand concept was characterised by a balanced combination of exhibits, generous open areas for communication and high-quality catering, creating the ideal environment for intensive and technically focused discussions. It was important to us to welcome visitors in a spacious and inviting setting in order to foster a positive atmosphere for conversation. GUTMANN succeeded in doing so: many visitors gave positive feedback on both the stand itself and its design concept, which featured extensive use of wood and warm colours.
It was also important for GUTMANN to have the company’s decision-makers present at the stand from Monday to Saturday. We decided that the entire management team would attend throughout the exhibition. They were supported by colleagues from field sales, technical services and internal sales. This continuous presence made it possible to connect visitors directly with the right contacts at all times during the trade fair.
We would like to thank all customers and interested visitors who came to our stand and look back on highly eventful days filled with positive emotions and inspiring discussions. GUTMANN looks forward with great enthusiasm to future projects and continued cooperation with customers.
